What will it take to change anything? Too many of our politicians, health care providers and NRA, etc., do not agree that there is a problem let alone on a solution.
Anger...rage... is part and parcel to adolescence. The mind reaches sentience but lacks maturity. In the mental health field there is a saying: the difference between adolescence and schizophrenia is that adolescence one 'grows out of'. As I said in another comment, we have reduced what we spend/invest in mental health for decades. That is sad!
While I am a staunch supporter of a ban against automatic assault weapons, guns are but a small factor. The same day as the Connecticut shooting, a man armed with a knife went into a school in China and attacked 19 children. No guns- just a deranged mind. If you look at government and private insurance monies spent on mental health, the figures have been dropping for decades- year after year. We pay a very high price for not placing a higher priority on mental health.
