Personally I can't choose between them. There are elements of each that I enjoy(in publication and on screen.) There are people that are just die hard trekkies(I know the preferred term is trekker)and others that prefer a galaxy far far away. Do you like the Federation or the Republic(old or new.) Your choice of enemies are either The Galactic Empire or the numerous enemies the Federation have made(The Klingons, The Romulans, The Xindi, The Dominion, The Cardassians, and The Borg to name a few.) I know some people like the Star Wars saga for its religious undertones. For example: The Force is a representation of God. The Dark Side is Satan. The Jedi are like monks. The Sith are like druids. Anakin Skywalker was the immaculate conception destined to be the chosen one(like Jesus was the son of God.) In reality Anakin became the Anti-Christ(when he turned into Darth Vader.) Again, I can't choose. I'm just a sci-fi/fantasy nut. Call me crazy.
