What Happened to John Hughes?

I was watching The Breakfast Club the other day and wondered What Happened To John Hughes? You know the guy that directed that movie plus Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Uncle Buck, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Plus he wrote those movies and Home Alone, Pretty In Pink, Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, The Great Outdoors, Home Alone, Some Kind Of Wonderful. I know you've seen his work. He was an icon in the 80s. He made detention look fun(Breakfast Club), Made skipping school look easy(Ferris Bueller), and he even made Kelly LeBrock every teenage boy's wet dream for a while(until she married Steven Seagal.) I did find out that he's been writing under a pseudonym of Edmond Dantes. He wrote the screenplays for the Beethoven movies(the ones about the Saint Bernard)under that name. He also wrote Maid In Manhattan and Drillbit Taylor under the name of Edmund Dantes. The last movie he directed was Curly Sue. He also, believe it or not, wrote the screenplays for some Disney movies like Flubber(with Robin Williams as the Absent-minded professor originally played by Fred MacMurray), 101 Dalmatians(Starring Glenn Close),and also the remake of Miracle On 34th St. He's done alot in his career yet he's never acknowledged for his brilliant body of work. I think he should get the next lifetime achievement award.
'nuff said.
