I was doing my civic duty today helping out Lincoln City's finest(aka playing a pedestrian decoy for the police). Actually I was in training learning how to not get run over while crossing the street and how to act covert. Pretty easy stuff. It kept the cops and PD(because she's a dispatcher)busy for a few hours. I got some sunshine and exercise. It was kind of fun yet a little boring at times because the chaser cars were all out writing tickets for those not stopping for pedestrians and we had to stand around waiting for the chasers to come back. I'm happy I could help. Had one driver from Washington yell out "Sting" when he passed by. I guess he was a little pissed off he got a ticket. You should have stopped for the lowly pedestrian in the designated crosswalk you idiot. Oh well, I guess we were in the wrong for wanting to cross the highway. Plus it wasn't a sting. It was a pedestrian awareness watch(or whatever terminology they used I couldn't remember.) All I know that they had ample warning we were going to be out there. How could you miss a bright yellow sign basically telling you there were cops waiting to bust you for not stopping?
