I was introduced to Leroy Anderson back in my junior high school days when the band learned and played a slightly simpler arrangement of Sleigh Ride. In high school, college, and in other bands and orchestras I again played the "real" Sleigh Ride numerous times, plus a number of others, such as The Typewriter and Syncopated Clock (which, by the way, are my favorites).
It is the purest and truest love when one loves unconditionally and never, ever deliberately will hurt another. You know that love and you have it.
It'll be like being on vacation in a hotel with lots of room service, personal care, dining options, light entertainment, a top-of-the-line gym with a lot of guests with something in common. There will be pain, but as you work past it you will begin to smile, feel healthier, and cheer up so many people there. I'm counting on you to do this right, Martin...to have the surgery, to get better, and to return home to continue being the great guy and inspiration that you are.
Yep, bring on those desserts! Ohhhhh, those chocolate fountains! Yummy!
Amen and HAPPY PRIDE! We have a lot to be proud of! We also must keep moving forward and helping those in need because there is still so much more to be proud of!
Well, unless I had to have surgery for some reason, I probably would not volunteer for it. Besides, I couldn't afford it. (No need to start taking up a collection unless I lose so much weight that I need to get a "trim".)
Like I said earlier...just bring on the dessert! (From the looks of it, I might want to double up.)
I would love to see this. If the lyrics can be clearly heard and understood, I love rap. The whole concept is like chanting, and we all know how important a good chant can be. The lyrics being emphasized such rhythm to go with that hard, steady beat just might pound something important into some heads. I would definitely give this one try and be open to this new way of theatrical entertainment. Not all things have to be torch songs or burlesque.
Well, because it's for a good cause, I guess it's ok. I didn't see anything that appealed to me, but I probably would have had fun if I was there.
I am angry as hell about this! This is definitely a gay issue, but.... straight people beware! ANY single person with no family, ANY person LIVING with ANY partner can be denied visitation rights (and other rights) because there is nothing legally binding unless there has been power of attorney or guardian arrangements made. But, be further aware, that no such document guarantees the rights, either. The discrimination is more likely to be against GLBT members, but it can happen to anyone! By straight people fighting FOR positive changes in this matter, they will be securing their rights, too...so I don't understand why so many non-gay people fight it. They're jeopardizing THEIR rights along with the rights of everybody else! This is a situation that IS of EQUAL concern because it proves it can equally devastating among all people. Special rights, my ass...it's equal rights and any idiot can see that (even the ones that deny seeing it)!
Whew! I'm glad to hear this good news. It will be tough for your dad for awhile, so you've got to take care of yourself, too, so you don't get all worn out. I'll keep all of you in my prayers.
You know that I will be thinking of you and your dad. I hope everything goes well, this is all very scary indeed.
