It tore me to read that. It reminded me of my brother. My brother didn't over-dose, he was shot in the neck by friends then disposed of him in a well known dump-site. He died June 20th 1991 and they identified the 'remains' October 3rd 1991.
I'll never forget that day. It's the day my whole world fell apart, nobody could heal my broken heart and nobody could cure the hurt and betrayal I felt at his friends absolute un-loyalty at the way they 'hid' the deed. They contacted us several times while my brother was missing to keep us up to-date on his goings-on. Apparently, according to them, he had found a job and was unable to contact us so had them do it instead. We had no idea that in actuality they were calling to see if we knew they had killed my brother.
When the police knocked on my mothers door the evening of October 3rd, we were stunned and worried that the other boys (the ones that killed Kenny) had been killed too as the information at that time was very elusive and they could not find the other boys.
When they found Ken, it took them several months to identify him. There was nothing left to bury so the burial option was taken away from us as cremation was the only logical choice.
Insult to injury, the BC Mail lost him. It was'nt until near the end of November that we were actually able to put him to rest.
My brother was 24.
I never thought I'd be older than my older brother.
I love you Kenny.....so very much, and you are missed every single day.
