Is that a new kind of sun-block he's wearing on his face? Is that a Speedo?
He knew how much you cared about him. He could see it in your eyes and in your smiles and all the times you shared. You didn't have to spell it out. What a loving tribute. I'll bet you're a lot like him.
There is no doubt in my mind that it's justifiable. Just tell the judge you're going though the change of life. She'll understand!
Picky, picky! Sometimes my access has been slow, too. However, lately I've been forced to use my evil peecee for a project and discovered the hitch must be on my end. I guess I better be really good if I'm going to get Santa to bring me a MacBook for Christmas.
I always heard that Grand Rapids, MI was a test market too. Apparently that's where adding fluoride to city water was started. I don't know how any city could be a true test market now. Interesting post, red.
For Jondude's contest: Was third prize a month in Galesburg?
Or, it could be the upper right, just under the link to sign out. Maybe it moves around.... (cue the spooky music.)
I confess - I used to hide old ratty t-shirts from my husband. I figured if he asked about them, I could always run 'em through the wash and put 'em in the closet, but he never did.
Hey Jeri! I'm so glad you're here. My anniversary was this week, too, but it was a sad thing this year. Otherwise, things are getting better. My mother always used to make pecan pie. What a treat! Did you use your own pecans in it?
Good post! I wonder why the topic is getting so much attention right now. It will be interesting to see if the sheriff is re-elected. I agree with Steve- a restraining order in it's essence is a piece of paper. It can only protect you if the police are present.
The other point the article left out is this: it is often more dangerous for a woman to leave an abuser than to stay. Women are much more likely to be killed while leaving than if they stay with the batterer.
I wish there was a solution. As for victims not wanting to testify, I can understand that. Just thinking about my first husband puts me on the verge of a panic attack and it's been nearly 30 years. When someone tries to kill you, it changes you for the rest of your life no matter how much therapy you have. Unfortunately it's one of those memories that won't let go!
Oh, boy you are right on target with the comment about short term memory. Good poem! I'm going to send it to all my older friends.
You probably never saw any snow in Florida, did you? It's pretty, but cold! Hey the sun's out! Gotta go...
Got any mocha java? I'd like a short stack with blueberries, please. Yum!
Glad you made it through. Anesth...(whatever) does weird things to me, too.
