It was a day of firsts yesterday, and a day that pretty much taxed what energy I have had as of late, since my surgery. I drove the car for the first time since surgery, and I was a good girl and didn't drive on any pain meds. I left the big city of Mount Morris to go to my doctor's appointment, and did a little bit of shopping on my own. I was pretty tired last night, and I can feel the fatigue hanging on now, so a nap will be in order this afternoon.
The doctor removed the catheter from my bladder and I was pleased that there was no discomfort involved. She said that not all of my sutures have dissolved yet, but it has only been about a week and a half. The doctor told me that I am healing nicely but that it will take another six weeks before I am able to completely resume all normal activities and return to work. I will return in December for my next checkup.
I am an impatient sort, I know, but the doctor told me that it would take up to three months for my red blood cell count to return to normal. She said to continue taking the iron that was prescribed and just take it easy. I am not accustomed to having much less energy than before. Between the pain/discomfort and lack of energy, I have been pretty limited as to how much I can realistically do.
I am thankful that it is a little more comfortable to sit at the computer, as that gives me something to do and there is plenty here to do. To be honest, though, I am still sitting on a pillow as it makes it more comfortable to sit on my bum.
Laying on the couch watching tv or reading gets old after awhile, but I am still doing much of it...lol. I do have enough energy most days to make a simple recipe and cook dinner. Cooking has always helped my stress, and of course I love to eat whatever I cook!
I just finished lunch a little while ago and feel sleepy enough to go lay down. I guess it is time for my nap and time to end this post.
Have a great afternoon!
