Holy crap, the sun came out. Its rays have made it past the clouds and through the light snowfall that we are getting now.
School was canceled early this morning and I think nearly everything but the emergency room is closed, including colleges and the YWCA. By eight there were a couple inches of snow on the ground and then it just fell harder as the morning went on.
Earlier this afternoon visibility was low here and the white stuff was coming down at a pretty good clip. Now the scene is sparkly and bright. I would say there are at least eight inches on the ground here in Mount Morris, yet two of that was there before the storm hit.
I guess we are supposed to get one to three inches more snow over the weekend here in Mid-Michigan, and then a decent amount the day before Christmas. A white Christmas is in the bag here.
For those of you who have little or no chance for such a beautiful (and cold) scene, I am willing to share some of the snow I have here with you. Send a dump truck and I will make sure you get the premium stuff. I aim to please.
The only down side for this snow day is that my daughter and a bunch of kids in this area ended up missing one of the best days of the school year. No parties or sing-a-longs today. No sugared up youngsters sent home to harried parents. Lots of children running around their homes in pajamas right now.
Yes, Virginia, there are snow days. Unfortunately, the day before Christmas break starts is poor timing. Like sixteen days off wasn't enough!
New Hampshire is snowing. This is gold for the mountain for the skiiers.
Good timing for the school break.
There will be plenty of snow for everyone.
Wonder if Santa has a hybrid sleigh.
Be merry and enjoyed this beautiful white stuff.
