Generation Progressive thenation.com — The Millennial generation has always been perceived as socially liberal, but today's young people have progressive views on the economy as well. Not only do Millennials have more progressive economic views than any other age group, but they also believe that increased public investments in health care, education, and other areas are necessary to ensure strong and sustainable economic growth. Furthermore, Millennials reject the conservative viewpoint that government is the problem, and they don't necessarily believe that free markets always have the answers.
I think it borders on insanity to think that government can or will solve social problems like those you mentioned. At least it's so in the case of the present U.S. government.
If your son truly is twice the man you are he will become (or already is) conservative in his life's outlook.
