Continuing on the weather theme, yesterday we got three inches of rain in three hours. My backyard looked like a river with the rain water coursing toward the storm drain in the corner. I wish I could send some of our excess water to the drought stricken areas in other parts of our country.

We hear that some western states want to tap into Lake Michigan water. Think how many pipes it would take to move that water half way across the country. The people in charge of the Great Lakes don't think that is a good idea.
The head of the water authority in Las Vegas has proposed a system of pipes to bring excess water from the Mississippi (during flooding) west to storage in Colorado. Then, western slope water from the headwaters of the Colorado River could flow freely toward Nevada and fill up Lake Mead again. Imagine the expense! I wonder if she thought Nevada was going to help pay for it.
We got that today. Still looks like more is on the way, too.
