Weather Report

Oh, boy, did we have rain and hail yesterday. I have never been in a car when it was hailing before. My grandson and I were driving home and the hail and the rain on the car were so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk.
What a weird summer for us. The hottest, the driest, and the wettest all in one month. Is this a strange summer for you too, where ever you are?

Yes, it has been a strange summer here in Northern Colorado: cooler for most of it, and then in the last two or three weeks the hot weather hit. The squirrels are racing to store pine cones, and we think it is going to be an early and long winter.

It's a horrible feeling driving in a hail storm because you worry about the dings in your paint, and if it continues long enough you could spin out on the ice.

We had one hot week in upstate NY with a slight dry spell, but nothing unusual. Now it's been raining on and off for too long. The ground doesn't need the moisture and the main concern is too much surface moisture will spawn the return of the tomato/potato blight that killed the crop two years ago. But so far, the garden is producing well, and it's been a nice summer to be outdoors.

Thanks for your comment. My tomato plants suddenly starting dying this week. Maybe too much rain.
