After Thanksgiving Thoughts
The leftovers are almost gone. A little pumpkin and whipped cream are left. I am the only one who likes pumpkin pie so I just bake the filling with no crust for myself. I do most of the cooking-my daughter helps a little. One year my daughter did the cooking and I really missed the leftovers so I took the cooking back. Now we are all living together. I got everyone to sit at the table at the same time-a major accomplishment. This year the 9 year old grandson really got into helping-he helped with the green bean casserole, peeling and mashing potatoes, the stuffing, the pumpkin filling, the crescent rolls and setting the table. The big grandson (19) discovered that he really likes stuffing and gravy. He demolished a loaf pan of leftover stuffing by himself in one sitting in the middle of the night. He has requested that we have turkey, etc., more than once a year. My thing is picking at the turkey carcass. The cooking grandson is peeling potatoes today. The mashed potatoes were a big hit with him. He is making more. The windows are steaming up. It is a gloomy, chilly day. I am making brownies from Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix. The house is smelling really good.
