Lakota Wolf Preserve Slideshow
April 27, 2008 my niece, Cheryl and her husband Joe, took me to the Lakota Wolf Preserve in Columbia, New Jersey. These are some of the pics I chose for the slideshow. It was absolutely awesome and I really enjoyed the trip! An opportunity of a lifetime!
The Lakota Wolf Preserve is near the Delaware Water Gap,located at Camp Taylor Campground in Columbia, New Jersey. There are wolf watches, twice daily. Photo shoots for amatures and professionals are available. Lakota Wolf Preserve is a non-profit organization. Sponsorships are partially tax deductible and donations are 100% deductible.
There are Arctic, Tundra, Timber and Gray wolves. There are also red foxes and bobcats, as well. The Lakota Wolf Preserve has received the Governor's Award for Environmental Tourism. The animals all live in a stress free environment in their natural setting. The observation area centers around four packs of wolves. If you have the opportunity to visit there you will learn about the social structure of the wolf packs, their eating habits, their interaction with man and many other interesting facts. We also had the opportunity to hear them howl! It was great!
