Full Moon 10/14/08 Hunter's Moon in Aries

Full Hunter's Moon - October 14, 2008
Other names; Travel Moon, Dying Grass Moon, Blood Moon
The first moon after the harvest moon is the hunter's moon, so named as
the preferred month to hunt summer-fattened deer and fox unable to hide
in now bare fields. Like the harvest moon, the hunter's moon is also
particularly bright and long in the sky, giving hunters the opportunity
to stalk prey at night. Other names include the travel moon and the
dying grass moon.

Deer calls to us from the Otherworld, from the realm of Faery,
and invites us to look beyond the material, beyond the superficialities
of life, toward the heart of things, toward the realm of causes rather
than effects. Poised in moon- or sunlight, Deer invites us to begin an
exploration of the Otherworld, the spiritual dimension of life."

This tiny deer was delivered by Caesarean
section at a wildlife hospital after his mother was killed by a
car.

Little Rupert, who is so small he can fit in an
adults hand, was born after vets failed in their battle to save his
mother.

Last months Full Moon was in Pisces, endings of things. This Aries Full Moon is about beginings.
Don’t forget Full Moons are about
manifestation.

It’s about looking around and within to see what is
going on and whether it honors your Divinity.

See my post on affirmations on this topic.
Just because you see it
and are living it now doesn’t mean your life has to be this way
forever. You can change. And nothing gives you the courage and strength
to change like Aries.

The Aries Moon also squares Jupiter in Capricorn, which makes me
reiterate—be reasonable.

Aries also has a tendency for popping off at
the mouth.

See my post on* "Harsh Words That Hurt."
In some ways it can be so desperate to prove itself; it gets
aggressive. Be mindful of what slips your lips. With a bit of restraint
and patience this aspect can be quite a juicy one.

But it also could be oppression in action.   Capricorn has people pleasing, repressive
tendencies—quite the opposite of Aries; be sure you are not holding
yourself back by being overly rigid or catering too much to others. As
long as the Sun remains in Libra allow yourself to act from a space of
balance. Yes, you are moving forward, but be mindful not to destroy
everything around or behind you. It’s always helpful to know where you
came from so you don’t return there.

The Aries Full Moon is a time to remember we are  born knowing
only love and to celebrate and share this precious gift. Though our
lives seem to seesaw between achievement and loss, love and pain, there
is a childlike innocence that still lives within us all.

Aries just Is, and this full Moon reminds us to just be and experience the crazy times we're living in. Can you laugh through
the tears? Can you feel the fear and do it anyway? Is it the end of the
world, or the start of a new adventure...in the void, we experience the
shocking, exciting reality that it's both.

It happens every month and specifically every time the moon is full.
According to scientists, for about three days on both sides of a full
moon, the lunar surface could transform from a tranquil, inert
landscape to an electrically charged, potentially dangerous
environment. During this time, the moon ploughs through Earth magnetic — an extension of Earth's magnetic field. Out in space, the solar wind stretches out the magnetic bubble that surrounds our planet, creating a
long "magnetotail" in the downwind direction. When the moon comes in
contact with this field, it could cause lunar dust storms and
discharges of static electricity. Future lunar explorers might possibly
have to take extra precautions during that time of the month.

As I look at that moon over the ruins picture again, I see another interesting thing. There is a sunrise or sunset sky glow in the background. When the moon is full, the sun is on the opposite side of the sky, so any glow is going to be there, not by the moon

New beginnings, eh? Maybe my granddaughter will be born that day. She's due any time now.

Very beautiful. I did not know baby deer were quite that small. Amazing story.

I like the picture of the moon at the beginning of the post, even though the moon is mirrored. I never heard of a hunter's moon, but had a harvest moon.
