This is a very busy theatre time in South Florida and I love it! Saw "Violet" last Saturday, next Tuesday will see "Motown-The Musical" followed by "The Phantom of the Opera" and Kinky Boots".
On March 24, 2016, "The Book of Mormon" will be celebrating 5 years of sold out performances on Broadway plus 4 years of 2 sold out national touring companies and tomorrow will be returning to South Florida for the third having sold out their previous stops here.
Winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, "The Book of Mormon" was written by the "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. A raucous, bawdy, with insanely crazy jokes returns to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts tomorrow evening and I will be there.
A story about two mismatched missionaries who are sent to Africa to convert the natives to Mormonism is told in song, dance and base humor, such as having sex with a frog, but also looks at the doctrines of religion and people of faith.
