Leap Year Memories, Cards, Gifts, Books & More

PART 1

As most people who know me I kept diaries for most of my life until blogging came along and that started a new way of my keeping a diary. So much happened and so many pictures taken that I may be writing about my 20thbirthday for the next 4 years! I haven't talked about meeting ILOVECATS yet!!!

In any case I have been floored by what people have done for me this year for my birthday. Yes, I have a few people in my life who are 'comfortable'--what an old fashioned word in our world of today!--but most are just making it from day to day and I know what sacrifices they made without asking them or expecting them to and that is something I will always remember.

Talking about friends I have already posted a few blogs about Chuck and Terry surprising me with a visit in December because they couldn't make it here for my dinner party. The gave me a new computer chair and shopping cart (I will have to post why the latter one of these days) but to my surprise they also sent a box of 20 miniature brownies from zestofmemphis.com knowing I love them!! (Now I have someone to blame for my birthday weight gain!!!) In addition between email and snail mail they sent me birthday cards every day all week!

Talking about cards, Gene in New York made one of her outstanding personal cards for me plus crocheted a piece that I want to frame!Knowing my love of theatre and "A Chorus Line" she sent me the new book by Michael Riedel "Razzle Dazzle".

Even bing.com sent me a 'card'--google didn't! Okay, so I get touched by the smallest gesture.

Jill sent me orchids and Irene and John gave me  new shirt while Mary, Mana, Pat, Jacquie, Josephina, Shirley gave me gift cards just to mention a few.

There was a completely surprising communication from my nephew for the first time in over 40 years plus a gift and a beautiful letter from my niece. I, also, received a great letter from my sister-in-law bringing up memories from the past that were priceless!

Folks I am one lucky man and I plan on telling you all the beautiful things that happened to me this week.

Multi-part blogs scare the #### out of me. I think I have lost patience for anything more than a few lines. It's all facebook's fault.

I would rather break ONE HUGE NEVER ENDING POST into 2-3 parts as I won't read the former--plus this is for my benefit--see the first paragraph.
