13th Leap Year Birthday February 29, 1988 South Florida
My Leap Year birthday fell on a Monday in 1988 and the party was at The Golden Spike, an excellent buffet restaurant that had, at that time, the best Carrot Cake in town.
I didn’t know about, or even if they were available, digital cameras back then or I would have a load of pictures. I am looking at my notes back from that evening and there were 29 guests and, sadly, 19 have died in the past 31 years plus I don’t know what happened to 5 others. Though I love being old that is definitely one of the negatives!
The Golden Spike and the other restaurants I have mentioned are no longer in business which has nothing to do with me having my Leap Year birthdays in them though it seems to continue the next few years.
