How Not to Feature a User

I think this is retarded. Not their choice, just the way they handle this stuff.

I think it's lovely they finally removed milk carton boy. Now he can get back to work. Or hire someone able to fix the mess he's made.

This is what you get if you're not on the featured bl*gster's buddy list.

Also, if you notice, their artwork looks like shit in Opera. Guess they're still squashing bugs.

Anyway, what's the purpose of featuring someone whose blog you can't see?

To quote Carlos Mencia: "Dee dee dee..."

In fact its pity all things went the way it went. It was a good site, but must admit I spend more and more time here last week. The only think I dont like here is the way the comments are edited.

In defense of Janetk and going private--there was an issue of family. I think that she said things that her family objected to; therefore, she opted to go private, but will add any and all friends outside of the family. Yes, Blogster is definitely having problems--validated by the fact that so many have moved here.

Did they really do this???

The also write like 3rd graders. I like Janet. Janet likes you. Janet likes to skip, too! Great job Janet!

That is the height of the ridiculous! A featured blogger who has her site set to private. I wish there were some way we could block individuals without blocking out everyone else at the same time. We all occasionally have issues with individuals; yet why must we block so many others just to keep one person from reading our post?

Yeah, that comment was targeted at me...I was going to comment but thought, frick it...tammers just doesn't get it so what's the point...what a mess there...

They did this (this was the first one since the switch) after I complained that I got sick of Johnathan and his "pretty dumb" (how cute) baby picture and by him being the feature just reminded me how screwed up the site was...his brother also has his on there....

Be careful of sticking your tongue out at me--I might get ideas!!!

this pissed me off:

I am glad you got another one on board, I hope they do well. I will be sitting in my corner waiting patiently for the day that Blogster runs smoothly.

On another note....

OMG...b**** moan groan, b**** moan groan, is that all you people know how to do? I mean come on, they are doing the best they can to a site that YOU happen to be using for FREE. Does anyone who is complaining right now realize how much a programmer gets paid or how itidious the work can be? You people who are complaining have already been told to be patient or leave, so leave already and quit threatening to leave. They set up new servers because of growth and are trying to make it faster for the immense number of people that are using the site for FREE! Just show a little patience, they know your proplems and are trying to correct them.

So I said:

You know everyone here has the right to complain. Most have been here a heck of a lot longer than you have and have watched a site they love go down what they consider the drain. They have watched valuable people who have been here since this sites inception leave. The community it once was it is no longer. Perhaps that will only last for a short time. I hope it does but people are as upset about the site not working right as they are about having their personal information used and the fact that the terms of service are not in place and give Blogster all rights to anything we write here. None of the things that are happening are right.

However on the same note they are promising it will change and have been promising this for some time. Some of us have more patience than others. I am exercising patience while others are not for many reasons. I am very sorry to see them go.

Further while you may consider this a free blog site that we have the privilege of using that is not exactly true. The people who have left and are leaving are what made blogster a success. With out interesting and diverse bloggers this site cannot and will not exist and most people who know anything about blogging know you can name off the top of your head at least 30 blog sites that do run correctly that they could move to as an alternative but these people who are yelling the loudest are doing it because they LOVE blogster and want to stay. They are the people who made blogster happen. It is selfish and rude of you to tell the people who have given you what you have to just leave because they dare complain.

Oh yeah and the amount of money programmers make is nothing to scoff at.

I personally feel the folks who own blogster now have a vision of what they want it to be and am willing to hang on to see that vision to it’s fruition but then again I already blog several places and am willing to wait. Hopefully in the fullness of time Blogster will again become the Community it once was only better.

Vladimir.... Greatmartin...now these are the kind of monikers that rate feature blogdom!! To say nothing of their blogs.

That is insane.

Most of the featured bloggers there are part of a certain group--even before the 'private' nonsense was added--the blogger I e-mailed you about (another name caller) went 'private' when I disagreed with him
Now, of course, Eddie here has shown remarkable class and taste here--ummmm--wonder who the featured blogger is on the home page here now?!?
comment by greatmartin on Feb 18, 2008 11:13 AM ()
And... Blogster is merely the shell of a once wonderful place. R.I.P.

Private blogging is, like I said before, masturbating- but telling the world where you beat it.
