I just uploaded about 100 photos dating back to last spring from Mr. Troutbend's camera to the computer.

Here are some he took at the animal habitat at the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas.

It's called Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Siegfried and Roy retired when one of the tigers attacked Siegfried during their show a few years ago, biting him in the neck. He lost so much blood he almost died, and had brain and neurological damage caused by a stroke due to the blood loss. He has recovered somewhat and is walking again, but they are no longer on the stage.











I don't really agree with penning animals up like this, but I suppose there are pros and cons. For one thing the tigers and lions and dolphins and others in this place have all been bred in captivity, so it's not as if they could live anywhere but in zoos. This is the only life they know, so unless there is some distant voice of the wild calling from their DNA maybe they don't think it is such a bad life.
