This sounds like a fun dessert to make. Once it was all together I think it might be hard to figure out exactly what's in it. It reminds me of making Twinkies in Jello. Maybe not cheap, but fun.
The Mystery Dessert
Makes 12 or more servings
12 ice cream sandwiches
Hershey's chocolate sauce
6 oz coarsely chopped almonds
1 carton Cool Whip
(Fresh berries, optional)
Line a 9 by 13 inch Pyrex dish with ice cream sandwiches. Spread chocolate sauce over the top. Sprinkle all but a few of the almonds over the chocolate sauce. Spread Cool Whip over the almond layer and top with the rest of the almonds. Freeze. Remove from freezer 20-30 minutes before serving. Top with fresh berries if desired. Cut into 12 servings.
