When someone asks me to review a draft that is overly pedantic, I tell them about the Gunning Fog Index (google it), which looks at the number of multi-syllable words and other factors to come up with a grade level, and then consider the audience - college graduate-level prose is not going to get through to a two years of college audience. I'm so glad that rat has been deterred, hope he has moved on to wetter pastures.
I'm so sorry. It looks horrible.
I get shivers just thinking about Stephen King's stories, and more so because we appear to be living this one right now.
It was bitterly cold here today, surprising because the other day it looked the same outside and it was 65 degrees.
What a mess. I always worry about my husband clicking on the wrong download or something and mess up his computer. I can give him limited IT support, but Windows really isn't my thing. I hope the rat problem is solved.
That's so cute. I wonder how cats talk in their heads.
Those things you got at the sale almost inspire me to check out the garage sales around here. I saw a sign for one the other day. Back when I was having knee problems I had one of those cortisone shots, only had the one, but it seemed to help not only my knee, but several other things that had been bothering me - a stiff shoulder for one.
That desk takes up a lot of room. I'm picturing a much smaller table just big enough to hold your computer and printer, etc. It will be very nice.
I told my husband that every neighborhood has its Clampett house, and with respect to his house in Las Vegas, I had better not come to the conclusion that it's his. But I don't think he listened to me.
That's just nuts that Lester has to chew those hoses all the time, it sounds like he's pranking you. If it was me, I wouldn't re-install the dishwasher, I'd leave it pulled out and put a rat trap in there baited with peanut butter in case Lester would fall for that. Hope there's only one of him and not a whole parade of Lesters.
I use Tracfone, and had a flip phone for several years that I was perfectly happy with since I don't use it at all and like to pretend it would be useful while traveling. Never mind that the couple of times I was traveling and truly needed it, it didn't receive a signal (in major cities like Wash DC). Every month on a certain day it had to be in a location to receive the downloaded minutes or we'd have to spend at least an hour talking to the help desk in India. This required taking it on top of the mountain or leaving it at a friend's house in town. During one of those babysitting deals, my friend Diane's daughter threw it away. So Diane gave me some money and I got an Android Smart Phone. Now, I don't have the minutes downloading problem, but it still doesn't work when I travel, something about 3G/4G etc.
That's right, there must be some sort of eyedrops that would alleviate the pain while the other drops are killing the germs.
I love chopped salads, wish I had one right now.
Exactly. I'll be the one in an orange safety vest and hard hat.
