That must be exciting to have a facelift for your apartment. Were those your decals?

There's always been shenanigans that don't stand up to the light of day, regardless of who is in the office, and every so often they get caught and there is a scandal. No matter who is in office, I have a hard time distinguishing what really matters and what is just puffing that makes it sound worse or more unusual than it actually is. I don't read all these 'news' articles that claim the smoking gun has just been found that will definitely get Trump dumped - this sort of headline is probably carved into the pyramids, been around as long as there's been politics.

I don't have much good to say about my early dentist experiences, either.

The title sounds like something I've heard before but can't place. I suppose it's Heaven Can Wait. Did we really go all these years without that phrase getting slightly modified and trotted out? Anyway, it's a fine title, sounds like it fits the plot.

It's nice to name a tree after a hurricane. My husband has an Aunt Wilma, and just saying her name, everyone thinks 'time to party.'

I saw a carrot cake in the store the other day, thought of you.

It must have been lovely to visit California and see the ocean in person. We can remember things like that, but a refresher once in awhile is revitalizing.

It's amazing to me that you're already seeing ripe tomatoes. Wednesday, the day before our 20 inches of snow, we bought some herbs and flowers at the garden center, and they are next to the dining room window getting some light while we wait for the melting, which is moving right along, but it'll be a couple of days. I'm going to go throw some wildflower seeds on top of the snow to see what happens.

Jeri and I are always commiserating about how hard it is to find a good book these days. Sometimes I have luck with Scandinavian authors: Joe Nesbo, Henning Mankell, Arnaldur Indridason, Jussi Adler-Olsen, Kjell Eriksson and the venerable Sjowall and Wahloo, who are Dutch. I download books by these authors from the Las Vegas library, ebooks and audio books.

It's nice to take a break from all the politics. I'm hooked on binge watching, seems like the best way to get to know a TV series.

I hope it all passes quickly, including the Trump part.

One time a hematologist told me the type of blood condition I have is mostly seen in people with African ancestry, so maybe I have more than the usual white person's share of African DNA, but I'm not in a hurry to find out.

Very exciting. I like several of the songs.

I recently read that novel, didn't realize there is a movie. I thought the novel also didn't focus on 'the dinner' not that I wanted agonizing detail about food, but at least a sense that there even was a dinner - it went off onto the things outside the meal.

Makes me think of MyBloggers.com - 'a blog site for what looks like elderly people and cats.'
