Luck

Remember back when this summer was young I asked you all to wish me luck with fixing the property line problem here? The problem is that due to some discrepancy in the legal descriptions going back to 1913 we've ended up with two houses on one parcel. So I decided to bite the bullet and pay for a survey so we could apply to the county for a Boundary Line Adjustment.

Last night, after looking at an email from the title company I took another look at my existing deed, and oops, it's in my name, not the company name. This has to do with settling my dad's estate and my sister went ahead and issued a correcting deed in my name instead of the entity I needed. I could have figured this out earlier, but never really looked at it until now. So, I need to get a new deed executed and recorded before we can proceed with the process.

I think my lawyer is ignoring me. I asked him to look at the survey plat and let me know if there is anything to be changed. Not sure why he hasn't responded, but I'm sure he'll get over it.

I'll tell him never mind about last week's question, take a look at this deed now, because unless he sees something wrong with it, I'm going to record it before the end of next week. He is a very good lawyer, and is only satisfied with his own work, so that'll probably trigger him to respond. He doesn't like to waste time fixing other people's mistakes and since he plans to help me make sure the final deeds correcting the boundaries are correct, he'll want to start with a clean slate.
