These electric things I bought last fall may be keeping the spiders out of the walls, not there are still plenty inside the house.

I feel that way about snakes: it just ruins my day to see one, even a picture in a magazine. Spiders don't bother me so much, so I take how that feels in order to get a glimmer of how people who aren't afraid of snakes feel.
