Hello from Colorado

It snowed several inches in Las Vegas last week. A few hours after this photo was taken, it turned to rain and the accumulation on the ground disappeared, but school was cancelled the next day just because.

It's on the dry side here in my part of Colorado, although there is some old snow on the ground, and the river is mostly iced over. It's dead quiet out there without the sound of the water rushing over the rocks.

Look again at these pictures that show my views from the respective houses - explains why I'm happier in Colorado than in Las Vegas.

Hope the baby bears learned their avoidance lesson well.

We decided that the mother bears were here after the big flood when there were lots of vacant wrecked houses with food so they developed a taste for human food and knew it was kept inside houses, and they depended on it. Maybe by now that generation has 'moved on' so there is hope for the cubs.

What beautiful pictures! We are battening down the hatches for what the forecasters are predicting to be a VERY cold weekend. Not sure if we'll have church on Sunday since they're predicting precip overnight and freezing temperatures. Stay warm!

A big two-day snow storm with cold temps started here (in CO) Friday night - I'm sure it'll wreak havoc for you guys.

You and Eloise are happy campers now. You can fire up the fireplace and get cozy and have that gorgeous view. I can relax knowing you have someone living near you now and the bears are finally asleep.

We sure are. The wildlife people let us know that they relocated some rehabilitated bear cubs into this area. Supposedly, they have been trained to avoid our houses. We'll see.
