Today I opened my email only to find that a friend/colleague of mine that I've known and worked with for years, suddenly and with no warning -- passed away. She was not old. Just in her 50's like so many of us there. She was such a sweetheart and always had a smile on her face and a good word for you. She really radiated whenever you'd run into her. She loved God and was a devout Christian, but I always thought she was one of those that lived it rather than preached it. She was gracious and kind to all her students and her colleagues. She left a legacy.
It was very sudden, she had never been sick. She just "didn't feel well." Her husband ran out to run a quick errand and when he returned -- she was gone. That sudden.
Of course I think of my own mortality and how you never know what tomorrow will bring. Live life for each moment of each day. Tell those you love how much you love them and don't be afraid to give to those in need.
I only hope that when I do go, my legacy of love will be sizeable. Have a great Tuesday.
