Okay, so "the diet" is basically one of those phrases one would like to forget if one is slightly or more abundantly overweight and very miserable. My problem -- very simple. I was a walker. I got plantar fascitis. I stopped walking. I gained some of the weight back! (shut up martin) Anyway, I realize now I was walking and burning up so many calories. I didn't eat any more, trust me, the diet has stayed the same but I wasn't burning up as much. Then I started yoga, which is awesome for anyone who is getting stiff joints and I don't care how old you are!!!!! Yoga is amazing, but it is definitely not fat burning! Well, some, but not a real cardio workout. So now I'm pumping up the tires on my beach cruiser! I have to lose the little bit of weight I've gained. Also, I'm going on....the diet!
Diets are relative to the people who use them. Some of us use them and lose and some of us just use them. We get discouraged after a week, give up and stop. Doesn't work that way. Diet is a lifestyle. At my age, I know that I #1 will never be a willowy size 8. Who cares. I'm 5'9" and I'm big boned. I've had two children and I'm middle aged. (This term is getting more an dmore relative as I get older.) Anyway, I am going to be happy at a 12 and I look absolutely great at a 12! Problem is that right now... I'm not a 12. So, I have to "change my eating habits." Found a wonderful anti-oxidant diet made with great whole grains and wonderful food. I'm working on it. Just started, but I'm going to keep a daily blog of each day I make it through!!! I can do this. I have before!!!! Time to get back to the person I want to be and not suffer at the hands of food.
If you are thinking about a diet decide the day...shop for it....start. Starting is the first part, staying on it is the hardest...finishing the fight and maintaining, that's also equally the hardest part. You gotta start somewhere. Now do it. That's what I'm doing! Later.
