So we're into week 3 of being unemployed. The severance check came in on Friday. There will be no more money coming from anyone other than the federal government for the unforeseeable future. It's strange talking to people because they want to know what's new with you. Today I went to the pool, and prepped for the phone interview. It was supposed to happen at 1 but wound up being pushed to 515.

At 520 the phone did not ring so I phoned them to see if I had the time correct. It was 530 when my phone rang and we had a good conversation that lasted about 30 minutes. It was the first step in the process and there is a potential to be two more. The employed world moves far too slow for the unemployed.

I have come up with some alternative life plans in the meantime. I have applied for a dual degree MBA/MS Marketing online program for Fall 09 admissions. One of the things that I truly regret in my life is that I don't have a degree in Marketing. I think back to a conversation that I had with my former Vice President where he said this is basic marketing 101 didn't you all go to school for this. I didn't go to school for marketing, and I have learned from the school of experience. This is what I have done and it works and this is what hasn't worked. The thing is that there is a science to this thing called Marketing. Regardless of what happens with my job prospects I am fairly certain I will be seeking this out.

Good things can come from unemployment, perhaps! I have been spending time by the pool working on my tan. I get my hair done on Friday and I have a fun no cost weekend ahead of me.

Saturday I am volunteering for beer fest which is an event that people drink, wait for it. Beer. Sunday Kristy and I are going to wineries. Hooray!

I heart my friends and no cost weekends! I will get a good job! I will! I am asking for it, I believe it, so I will receive it!!!!
