I think it's natural to ponder the meaning of our existence. I find myself pondering existence upon tragedies, which can be measured big and small. Recently there have been some big and small tragedies in my life.

A small tragedy for me is that my hometown was attacked by a gunman. I don't live there anymore, and I am sad for the victims. I am shocked that something of this level could happen in my hometown. However, I haven't lived there in over 9 years. Someday, I will call this place my hometown, perhaps.

A big tragedy in my life happened last night. Poor Bishop was taken to doggie heaven. He had a tumor in his lung, and he was having a rough go of it. My good friend M made the incredibly difficult decision to put her dog Bishop down. I loved this dog. I won't go and on about it but it's a sad day for me.

Today the sun is shining, and I have my very own gorgeous dog. I am grateful for this, truly and absolutely. I took my puppy for a mile walk this morning. I pet him, I gave him hugs and kisses. Last night before I even knew about this, I was in the elevator with him to take him outside. I made him sit as I always do, and he looked cute. I decided to kiss his face as I always do when he's looking cute. I was planting three of them on the Spiker when the elevator doors opened and someone else was getting on. It was priceless the look on the dude's face. He was like wow, that dog could sit on me all evening. I am not sure what the hell that means, but I laughed, and went for our final walk of the night.

A bit melancholy today, but I hope you're all doing well.
