Gaylord Texan-part 1

First in a series of things to do in Dallas/Ft. Worth....

The Gaylord Texan

The
Gaylord family opened the fifth of its spectacular hotels and
convention centers in Grapevine,  a suburb between Dallas and Ft. Worth
and five minutes from DFW Airport,  three years ago.  It is a visual
treat to the senses for both young and old.

For
those who want to relax with a drink and watch a sporting event or
other television program, the Lone Star room features a panoramic screen
with televisions also along the walls.

A
riverwalk winds through lower level of the hotel, which features shops
and restaurants.  The entire motiff is Texas-themed.  Notice the wooden
windmill to the left  In addition the complete area on the lower level
is a huge atrium.

Just off the atrium, a comfortable lounge where people can relax, put up their feet and visit by the fire.

Another
shot of the "Commons" area.  Many people come just to dine and enjoy
the many special exhibits featured throughout the year.

I saw the one in Memphis and it was spectacular. All of the plants and
streams that ran through it were so gorgeous.

This one is also. The Gaylords never do anything halfway, as we in Oklahoma know.
