Careful! Wrong kinda road. This time I am back on the road to jousting with windmills.

There is some evidence that a local school districted has hired an administration and that administrator has no administrative credential as required by the State of California.

The State web site has no record of the credential in its data base. However, apparently that is not unusual. I know others whose credentials are not listed even though mine are.

I know this, so contacted the HR unit of the district and got the old "privacy" excuse for not providing me with the data. Since the document is a public one, it is not protected under privacy considerations, being public much like a driver's license.

Rather than providing me with the data I requested, the HR department, using more common sense that I thought possible, asked the administrator to call me and provide me with the data.

Problem is that I did not give them permission to either give him my name or give him my phone number. They protected his privacy on one hand and violated mine on the other.
