I'm killig time this a.m. before I take M to visit her Poppy and Mamaw. She's very excited. I think I'm going to go and visit a dog show they are having at Reliant Arena. I had planned on going to a movie but there's nothing I want to see. I'm not a Batman fan or any of those others that are out right now.

We went and picked a puppy out yesterday. Leo will be joining our family on Wednesday. We will pick him up on the way back from San Antonio. It took us over an hour to decide which one we wanted. There was a little girl with very different coloring than Lily. Leo looks almost exactly like Lily.

We took Lily with us. The breeder wanted to see her and she's never been out in the big world like that. It was very interesting to watch her. At home she is the bravest puppy you can imagine. The big outside dogs growl at her and she just keeps at them. These little puppies though, scared her witless. It could have been that there were three shih tzu puppies and 2 daschund but she was trying so hard to get away from them. Finally we put one down on the floor with her at a time to see what would happen. We decided the little boy would be a better mix. We've also decided no puppies though so Lily will be going in for surgery very soon.

We really did consider our reasons for getting another puppy. We thought Lily would enjoy a playmate. During the school year she's by herself a lot during the day. Another reason though, is that Lily has really attached herself to me. When we got Lily is was so that M would have a pet. It hasn't really turned out that way. Actually she stays pretty jealous that Lily enjoys my company so much. I'm hoping that Leo will make it that we spread the love around a little. My parents informed me in no uncertain terms that we did NOT need another puppy! They're not going to be really happy when Leo arrives. But J and I decided this was our decision and we were comfortable with what we are doing. Man, it's hard being 39 sometimes!
