Calgon, Captain's, Something!

We are going on day 9 since tonsil surgery in this house. I love my child dearly and know I shouldn't say this, but I need a vacation! I will gladly admit it's somewhat my fault. I went back to sleeping with her the night before the surgery. Tonight is the first night she has had to sleep by herself. I pegged it twice though-she got up twice before giving in. I have to just be a bitch which makes me feel like the devil mother. She will come in and hug and hug unless you just tell her go to bed! I wonder when it is you realize how much mommies love you even when they are the bitch from hell.

She still is pretty much just sitting on the couch. She was a little more stir crazy today. She played with the puppies some. Leo had his rabies shot today though and wasn't feeling too chipper. If you tried to pick him up he yelped. Of course then he would go make a leap onto Lily's back and the fight would be on.

J and I are going to a play Sunday. That will be my "mini vacation" before going back to work. We're going to see "Tuna Does Vegas." Chris and I saw one of the Tuna plays early in our relationship. It feels a little weird to see one with someone else. I'm hoping though it will be as funny as all the other Tunas I've seen. (Greater Tuna is a two-man play set in a little town in Texas.) I'm hoping J can get the humor without knowing much about Texas.

I put M to bed tonight and then put the puppies to bed. Lily was chasing Leo around the living room and barking at him. Not a good thing when you're trying to get everyone to sleep. They're funny though-Leo hides from Lily and she's not always smart enough to figure out where he is. And believe me, the living room is not that big! Anyway I put Lily in the bathroom and put Leo in his carrier. I'm watching TV and hear these little pitter patters. I'm looking for M at the end of the hall but don't see her. I didn't want to get up and look in case she was hiding. (I figured it would be better if she just snuck back to bed.) I hear another little pitter patter and here comes Leo around the couch. Evidently I didn't shut his carrier tight. He growled as I put him back in...not happy about sleep. Just like everyone else though it just took him a couple of minutes to drift off to sleep. I think that's what I need to do!

It can be tough to enforce the rules and such. They have the cutest, sadest eyes when they are unhappy.
The pups sound like they are so adorable!

You're doing what you know to be best, that's what counts!
