In this original teaming of Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor, George Caldwell (Wilder) witnesses a murder aboard a train, but no one believes him. When a detective finally agrees to look into the case, he's bumped off as well. Although George appears to be next on the hit list, he manages to escape -- only to be hauled off to jail by a local cop. With the help of small-time criminal Grover Muldoon (Pryor), will George manage to break free?

4 stars. Great classic, fave part is when Gene Wilder is learning to be black. Funny journey, crazy times!! Wish Richard had a bigger part.
Don't forget to see "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God" about priests who took advantage of deaf boys--a heartbreaker!
