In Victorian England, aristocrat Dorian Gray (Hurd Hatfield) becomes increasingly hedonistic and vain. When his portrait is painted, Gray makes a Faustian bargain: The picture will age while he stays young and handsome -- an evil pact that leads to murder. This classic drama based on a novel by Oscar Wilde won an Oscar for Best Cinematography, and Angela Lansbury took home a Golden Globe for her role as Gray's jilted lover.

4 stars (Dale-3.5, David-4.5). Story was good but it was hard to believe he was as evil as they sad cause you never really saw anything but a bad attitude! "The Picture of Dorian Gray" is a true classic and one you really should see at least once. This film is extremely slow and for the most part it needs to be...it builds slowly but there are times when it is almost numbing.
