This moving PBS documentary chronicles the sacrificial courage of African-American men and woman who have served our country in time of war, from the Revolution to Iraq, to help secure freedom for all American citizens. Hosted by Halle Berry and using diaries, letters and other first-hand accounts, this program reveals what motivated these heroes to fight foreign foes for rights that they themselves did not always enjoy back home.
