On August 27, 1883, the Indonesian volcano of Krakatoa

exploded with devastating fury, reducing the island to a third of its former size and triggering a massive tsunami. More than 36,000 people were killed immediately, and the aftereffects of the eruption were felt on a global scale. Using dramatic re-creation, documentary footage and stunning special effects, this program brings to life one of the most disastrous natural cataclysms in history.

5 stars. I love PBS, Volcanoes, & history...so this was just the perfect film. Really loved the way they reanimated it, made it feel very realistic.
