This sci-fi animated sitcom -- heavy on the sarcasm, satire and wit -- hits its stride and gained a wider audience in its second season. Created by Matt Groening



("The Simpsons"), this offbeat, hilarious series follows Fry (a pizza delivery boy in 1999, accidentally frozen, now defrosted in 2999) as he and his co-workers at Planet Express jet to all five quadrants of the universe, risking lives as they deliver packages.

This series includes the following episodes:

1. I Second That Emotion - After Bender flushes Nibbler down the toilet, Fry, Leela, and Bender make a perilous journey through a mutant-infested sewer system. 3.63 stars (Dale-3.75, David-3.5)

2. Brannigan, Begin Again - After being court-martialed, Zapp Brannigan joins the Planet Express team ... only to inspire Fry and Bender to mutiny against Leela. 3.5 stars.

3. A Head in the Polls - When the price of Titanium skyrockets, Bender hocks his titanium-rich body and lives the good life...until Richard Nixon's head uses Bender's discarded torso to stage a political comeback. 2.5 stars (Dale-3, David-2)

4. Xmas Story - Fry & Leela find themselves targeted by a murderous robotic Santa Claus; Bender volunteers at a shelter for homeless robots. 3.5 stars.

5. Why Must I Be A Crustacean In Love? - When Dr. Zoidberg runs amok during his people's mating season, Fry sets out to teach him how to woo a mate. 3.5 stars.

6. The Lesser of Two Evils - Fry fears the worst when Bender's exact duplicate joins the crew on a mission to deliver a valuable atomic tiara to the Miss Universe pageant. 3.5 stars.

7.Put Your Head on my Shoulders - Valentine's Day turns into a nightmare for Fry after his head is surgically attached to Amy's body. 3.25 stars (Dale-3.5, David-3)

8. Raging Bender - Bender's popularity soars when he becomes a pro-wrestler, but when he is instructed to intentionally lose a fight, Leela steps in to help him defeat an opponent trained by her old Kung-Fu master. 3 stars.

9. A Bicyclops Built for Two - Leela finally encounters another member of her species, a handsome male. But when he turns out to be a jerk, she fears that leaving him will mean her species' extinction. 4.25 stars (Dale-4, David-4.5)

10. A Clone of my Own - The Professor chooses his clone, Cubert, as the successor to his research...only to realize that Cubert has dreams of his own. 4.75 stars (Dale-4.5, David-5)

11. How Hermes Requistioned His Groove Back - Hermes grows despondent when he misses an opportunity for a promotion; a female bureaucrat is turned on by Fry's sloppiness. 4.13 stars (Dale-4.25, David-4)

12. The Deep South - Deep beneath the ocean, the crew discovers the lost city of Atlanta, where Fry falls hopelessly in love with a mermaid. 4.25 stars (Dale-4, David-4.5)

13. Bender Gets Made - After joining the Robot Mafia, Bender finds himself involved in a scheme to rob the Planet Express spaceship of its cargo & destroy the crew. 4.13 stars (Dale-3.75, David-4.5)

14. Mother's Day - On Mother's Day, Mom unleashes a hoard of rampaging robots to destroy Earth - and only the Professor can stop them. 3.75 stars (Dale-3.5, David-4)

15. The Problem with Popplers - Powerful alien beings threaten the devour all of mankind after the Planet Express crew imports the aliens' tasty offspring as a food product. 3.25 stars (Dale-3.5, David-3)

16. Anthology of Interest 1 - The Professor's "What-If" machine simulates Bender, Leela, and Fry's wishes: Bender turns into a giant robot; Leela impulsively murders her friends; Vice President Al Gore,

19. The Cryonic Woman - Fry's ex-girlfriend from 1999 unthaws in the year 3000, but when she doesn't fit in, she & Fry journey another thousand years into the future. 4.5 stars.
