Cunning American sociopath Tom Ripley (Dennis Hopper)
sells forged paintings in Germany. Idealistic, happily married art restorer Jonathan Zimmerman (Bruno Ganz)
is dying from a rare blood disease. But when Ripley arranges for the desperate family man to carry out a high-paying mob hit, the two forge an uneasy bond, one steeped in deceit, corruption & cold-blooded murder, and one that could easily ruin what's left of Zimmerman's life.
