Seems as though your questions need validation from your wife. If she doesn't mind, why should anyone else? It is only Mary that might feel offended and mainly her feelings that you care about and have to deal with. The rest of us don't get to weigh in . . . but here's my genuine response: it's fine w/me. The way I see it is that people who dress provocatively do so b/c they want to be noticed. Can't blame folks for noticing, right?
Lovely work, JD. The S.G. Moonscape really pops for me. How much are you selling these for?
J.D. for President!
Ah! A dulcimer-playing thespian waxing philosophic! How VERY talented you are, Jim! Your description of Casco Bay and the sand-art of the monks was very descriptive. And your encouragement to live in the present moment and really FEEL it - is a great reminder to not get caught up in the past or fret about the future. Eckhart Tolle would say that you've "awakened" - a term that means you are living consciously and intentionally. BTW, thank you for missing me!
I took a class entitled: Anatomy + Perception of the Eye + Brain. . . which was fascinating. Learned lots about neurons, synapses, axions, and yadayada. Foods weren't part of this curriculum, but our instructor did mention that blueberries were brain food.
So...you're reading it and how is it so far for you?
I do better at Haiku.
Went to his winery for our 10th Anniversary. Lovely place and state-of-the-art processing.
JD, have you ever taken Chondroitin/Glucosamine? Suppose to work on arthritis. Percodan - sounds pretty strong! I've been taking Vicodin on an as-needed basis. Oh the woes of getting older!
One thing for sure . . . he's way smaller than you and doesn't have teeth, so he won't be flying up at you or your jugular! (That's what hubs used to say to me when I encountered a big spider!)
Ew. Yikes! Good for you, Cindy!
Thx to everyone for filling in the blank. I was actually thinking cans of tuna.
I think some women are more prone to use certain words and others not. When we (mothers) are communicating w/our children, we often use words like yummy and tummy. When we communicate w/adults, it probably waves in and out from the full-time job of child-rearing. Like many jobs, it has its own rhetoric, slang, and terminology - and makes its way into conversations. I'm less likely to use this crossover language w/professional peers and folks I'm not that close to. On the other hand, if I'm in the presence of family/friends, my language seems more relaxed.
Another thing: some parents baby-talk to their children. We never did really. Occasionally though, we would say tummy instead of stomach.
Now how do you decipher this phrase: Dude, that was AWESOME!
Hm. Heard that broccoli and other cruciferae were to blame for the stones. A good friend of mine got them regularly and was hospitalized many times for it. When she cut way down on her intake of broccoli, especially, no more stone incidents.
Great site! I've always wanted to read The Dharma Bums (Kerouac) and will ck out the Carnegie book at the library!I haven't exhausted every page of this site, but I hope Anna Karenina is in there somewhere. I read lots of these books in elementary school and jr. high. Our nuns were determined to raise literate orators/debaters. AK has a cast of thousands (perfect if you have ADD).
