Best Thing I've Ever Knit..

My very the favourite things I've ever knit was a glow-in-the-dark pink uterus with pose-able fallopian tubes. Small beads for the eggs...

I made it for my doctor, and he cradled it in his hands and exclaimed with total glee - "It has a cervix!" He put it on his desk. I'm not sure if he caught the fact that it was glow-in-the-dark... But one night, when the lights were out, he'd notice ..

Oh good heavens! What next! I shudder to think what an OB/GYN would be doing in his office with the lights out, I'd be afraid to stumble into some piece of equipment. But of course the glow-in-dark thing would serve as a beacon. Who in the world designs these things? Do they have a whole line of organs and parts?

It didn't stay in the exam room - just in his office... Really funny to watch him cuddle it on the way down the hall. Still makes me laugh. He said he had never had anything like this before, but that some of his colleague's did.. He said it was the best thing ever...

I found the file online. I now have a file on the computer called "Body Parts" and there are patterns in their for a digestive system, a boob, bacteria and a uterus. Also, a really cool pattern for a "tit bit" which is for people who have lost a breast and need to wear a prosthesis. I am going to make a few of those for the local breast cancer group.

I am glad you enjoyed the uterus..
