Everyone

My mom and I rarely talk on the phone and we rarely see one another (outside holidays) though we live about 70 miles apart. Our communication comes primarily through email. It's just better that way - and easier and more sane.

I sent an email the week before last asking what her days off were and suggested that we get together sometime. She replied with a short email indicating what days off she has until Memorial Day and asked what "everyone" was doing for Easter.

I didn't immediately reply because "everyone" in my life means DH and me, but I'm certain in her life "everyone" includes my sister and her family, too - and in case you didn't know, my sister and I don't have a Hallmark relationship.

I decided to answer the email yesterday and acted like I didn't realize the "everyone" she was referring to included that bitch and her family and instead mentioned that the in laws don't do much for Easter so DH and I will probably get something to eat with Daddio. I asked what her plans were and said that if we're not long with Daddio, maybe we could try to stop by.

There was an email in my inbox this morning. She said she and my grandmother have been invited by the SistersLastName's to go to a German restaurant.

That's all there was to the email.

Lovely.

I don't know why I let this shit get to me.

And in completely, unrelated news: I'm NOT digging the fucking pop up ads. At all.

Oh, haven't seen the popups - yet.

Sorry your family is so weird about stuff like this. My immediate family is cool but some of my extended family members like to cause drama.

Glad you have DH!!!

Oh, and I have a site for you to check out: https://www.hhnews.com/epo.htm
It's all about the benefits of Evening Primrose Oil. The American studies say it's useless but a study in Europe showed that women who took it three times a day had less PMS symptoms. I take it to prevent migraines and love it! And now I know that there are other benefits to taking it. Maybe it's not the Yaz that makes my PMS so much better but the Primrose Oil.

Sorry kiddo, of course, it bothers you; it would bother anyone. My mom had eyes for my brother only. I was my dad's.

I'm not digging the pop up ads, either. They freaked me out at first.Well, Stu...you wanna come to my house for Easter with the American Boy? Your American Boy is welcome, too! And we have tons and tons of chocolate and I can assure you that the Easter Bunny will bring something for you...and you both can just relax and unwind in Canada and forget about the family that treats you like sh*t.Easier said than done, I know...but I wish that I could do something to make it easier for you.
