“So, I was driving today with the windows open,” my friend, Max said in an IM today. “It’s so nice… It’s almost 80 here in Vegas.”

I wanted to jump through the computer and pummel him. “It’s frickin’ forty-five degrees here,” I typed back at him. “Oh, and it’s drizzling.”

I hate extreme cold weather almost as much as I hate extreme heat and humidity. And it’s cold as hell today. My main problem too is that I refuse to wear winter coats in May. I have a peacoat and a leather winter waist coat in my closet, but I still wear my sweatshirt/blazer combo with a scarf… and I get frozen to the bone. Fashion over comfort, right?

But damn, I can’t handle the cold weather. It would be so easy to wrap myself up in a cocoon and not leave the house until it warms up in a few days, but the dog demands to be walked three or four times daily. God, I wish she could walk herself. It’s supposed to get colder tomorrow. It's supposed to drop down to 20 degree's tonight. Is that even possible? It's MAY people!

“So, I think I’m going to put on a t-shirt and a pair of shorts and go running,” Max wrote, almost gleefully.

“On the flipside, I think I’m going to put on some long johns, a wool sweater, and a knit cap so I can walk the dog and not freeze to death,” I seethed under my breath. “You suck.” I’d kill to be in Vegas right now… of course, not just because of the 70 and 80 degree weather.

I am looking forward to my trip to Akron, Ohio with Ryan (the college kid I met online and befriended) this coming Memorial Day weekend. We'll be together Friday (the 23rd) through Sunday (the 25). This will be my first time meeting him in person, but I'm also a little nervous about it. Will we like to do similar things? Will we get along? -- that sort of thing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
