Today was the first day back to school since the car hit the 7 year old on Friday afternoon. The bus company decided to have the bus driver who saw everything happen ride on her own bus this morning. It would ease her back into things and allow her to get back in the saddle again.
On an even brighter note, the young man who was hit was well enough to go to school today. He was sporting quite a few stitches, but he was in a bright mood, from what I heard. I think he is really to be commended, considering. I would have been scared to death to go back on the bus!
Today was the first day that it really became a news story. There were short blurbs in yesterday's papers, but the television crews were out and about in town ... including the bigger-named personalities. Besides covering the details of the accident, a lot of questions are being asked about the lack of a monitor on the bus. I am curious as to how that aspect of things plays out.
