Star Wars Empire, Volume 3: the Imperial Perspecti

This third volume in the series is made up of four short stories, each providing a different Imperial's perspective on the war with the Rebel Alliance.

In the first story, readers join TK-622, a dedicated Stormtrooper, who is on the hunt for a Rebel saboteur. His search, and his dedicated service to Imperial officer Commander Akobi, lands him on the Death Star with a new assignment shortly before the important Battle of Yavin.

Have you ever wondered what happened to Darth Vader after his TIE fighter went twirling away from the Death Star just before it's explosion? The second story lets fans in on just that secret, as well as a glimpse at some Imperial officers serving on a distant outpost that don't quite life up to the stringent standards of the Dark Side.

Readers meet Lieutenant Janek Sunber, a talented officer in the Imperial army who originally had hoped to be a pilot. He is unfortunate in that his family has little money or connections, which means he tends to serve under higher ranking officers that are lacking in the talent area but succeed through their connections, Sunber finds himself on a distant outpost with a small group of Stormtroopers and officers being confronted by a vastly superior (in numbers) native force. Will they survive and what role will he play?

Fans of the Shadows of the Empire novel and Prince Xisor will find that his people are rising from the ashes with the hopes of taking revenge on Darth Vader, who played a major role with a massacre that took place on their homeworld. Assassination seems like it would be the best way to take care of him ... but what are the chances of success?

I have yet to be disappointed with this graphic novel series. Whether they are book length or short stories, each tale is really well constructed. New characters are introduced, and they don't feel like strangers. The storylines really add quite a bit to the backdrop of the story that is the Star Wars franchise/Expanded Universe.
