I am starting to think that I should have found a way to take a vacation during the Olympics. I talked a little bit about how much I like to watch them, but I should tell you how MUCH I need to watch them. We aren't even a week into them, and I am already pooped!
You see the problem is that I keep watching them until they aren't on any more at night, which is usually some time between midnight and 1:00 am. As a result, I am getting about 5 hours of sleep in the morning. When that alarm goes off, I feel like I want to just roll over and get back to sleep. Thankfully, by the time I get into the groove of my morning bike ride, the endorphines kick in and I am wide awake.
The tough thing is that I am noticing that I am a little less tolerant of people at work. I have been biting my tongue all day. Everyone says that it is not just me, though, because we have been so busy.
I am so happy for Michael Phelps, the swimmer. He has been doing so great. What is really awesome is that he is doing awesome, and he seems to be a really nice guy. He knows he is good, but he doesn't have an ego about it. I find myself on the edge of the couch whenever he is swimming because I can't wait to see if he is going to get another gold.
I have been really enjoying Mary Carrillo's evening stories about various things about China. For example, tonight she did a bit of a tour about some of the more interesting foods you can get in China. Last night, she focused on the panda and what China has been doing to preserve them. One night, she talked about how so much of what there is in China is supersized.
This Olympics has been really great watching all around. I really just can't seem to stop watching!
