Well, I know this is probably a little late, but I took a day off from the computer yesterday. I hope that everyone had a great New Year's weekend! I hope it was filled with friends, family, and joy. I hope the same can be said of 2010!
It was a quiet New Year's celebration for Ray and I. I had to work during the day. It was an interesting shift. Because of the holiday, we had already set up the schedule so we had a a skeleton crew, and that was made even more interesting because the day started with some snow. I got in before it started, and we ended up with about 3 or 4 inches.
Ray and I always differ about how to best ring in the new year. I like to head into Providence for Bright Night, which is what they call the local celebrations. Performing artists from the area make the most of various venues. It is loads of fun, and a lot of people make use of the offerings. I usually like to stop in at one or two of the clubs for some fun dancing and such.
He is a bit more of a home-body and prefers to ring in the new year that way. Thanks to the snow, his side won!
On Friday night, we had a second round of celebration. The folks we play cards with on Fridays got together for some pot luck and celebrated the start of the new year. It was loads of fun.
Well, I have decided to do a couple of resolutions this year. The first is that I am hoping to get my weight back down to where I want it. The last few months have been pretty hectic with work and class and various other things so I have not really stayed on top of things in that area. So, hopefully, I can say that I am happy with my weight again come my birthday in March.
The other resolution is to try to get back into the routine of blogging again. I used to be much better at it, posting about three times a day about this and that. I have continued to do the book reviews, but I haven't been able to do much in the area of talking about my life in them. I would like to change that as well.
Anyway ... so, happy new year to one and all!
