The Double Comfort Safari Club by Mccall Smith

Grace Makutsi seems to take on a starring role in the newest No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency novel. With the start of the novel, Mma Makutsi learns that her fiancé, Phuti Radihuti, has had an accident and will have to have his leg amutated. All of this is traumatic enough, but it becomes even more difficult as Phuti's aunt won't allow her to come to visit him, even though they are to be wed shortly. The aunt, who is being protective, thinks she has the right to do so because Mma Makutsi and Phuti have not yet married.

Grace also finds the agency taking on her long-time bane when it gets a case from a man who is hoeing to get his house back from his fiancée. Once this man arranged for the property to be transferred over to her name, it quickly became clear that she was not really interested in him ... just what she could get out of him.

Mma Ramotswe is drawn into an interesting case when she is hired by a gentleman serving as the executor to the will of an American woman who had had a pleasant trip to Africa years earlier. She wanted to actually reward a kindly tour guide, but did not know his name so it will be up to Precious Ramotswe to seek him out.

Mma Ramotswe also finds herself having to take on her least favorite kind of case when she is asked by a friend to investigate whether his wife is cheating on her. This proves to be the most humorous of the storylines, but all of them are interested in full of endearing characters and quirky situations that have made the series so popular.

Fans of the series will definitely love this one.

Did I tell you Variety mentioned they might be making a couple of movies out of the books?

That would be pretty cool. I hadn't heard that.
