I feel like I had the crap beaten out of me today. My arms and back are really sore. You are probably wondering why. Well, it is because I started a new game on the Wii today. It is called Playground, and I ended up playing it for 8 hours today.
It is made up of all the familiar games we played on the playground as kids: dodge ball, wall ball, tether ball, paper airplanes, car racing, soccer ball, and a number of other games and activities. Along the way, you collect stickers and marbles to purchase more stickers (skills) to do better in the games as they become more challenging in levels.
After you complete each level and get the sticker you need, the computer opponent, then gives you three or four "dares" in the forms of variations, allowing you further chances to get marbles, which take on the form of money.
The avatars in the game are cute. They look just like the kids on the game cover (above). They also make all sorts of fun gestures in response to winning or losing.
It was definitely quite a workout, and some of the games take on the form of puzzles or mindbenders that need to be sorted out. Others require just a little bit of luck. And then, there are some that you literally just have to sweat through as you work your but off to compete against the computer opponents.
It also brought back a lot of fun memories of playing these games when I was young!
